You may like to write Chinese characters bigger so they can be seen clearly.
(In fact, this is especially appreciated by beginners as we find it hard to recognise small characters!)

[small]Small text![/small] Small text!
You can make your Chinese characters appear in an artistic script font (people who ask for tattoo translations especially appreciate this tag)
However, you need to download and install the free AR PL KaitiM Big5 font in order to see the difference!

  • Convenience - the forums will remember your name once you have logged in.
  • Usefulness - registered members have access to features such as the ability to edit their posts.
  • Community - by joining the site you help it grow and motivate us to keep improving it - in effect it is a way of saying "thanks for running this website, I like it and will keep visiting".
  • Fun - once you are a member you can edit your profile to add signatures to your post, display a picture in your profile and more.
  • Multi-lingual - you can choose your preferred language for the forums.  Simply go to your user profile and choose from Chinese, German, French and more (if your favoured language is not supported please let me know and I will try and install it).  Warning - don't choose a language unless you are confident you can read it as you may not be able to work out how to put it back to English!

Quoting previous posts and Threaded / Flat views

Threaded views allow you to see exactly which messages have been replied to.  As conversations go off at various tangents it can be useful to use threaded view to avoid becoming confused!  Having said that, most people browse using flat view.

The main advantage of using threaded view is that you get a new button which says "Quote".  This allows you to insert the previous post into your reply which is useful when responding in detail.
