沙茶醬

satay sauce; sa cha sauce; shacha sauce; barbeque sauce - a sauce originated from Malaysia/Indonesia before being imported into Fujian and Chaozhou, China 沙茶醬 is also known as 沙爹醬 as 茶 and 爹 are pronounced almost the same in Chaozhou dialect. (In Cantonese, 爹 is pronounced closer to the second syllable of "satay" whereas 茶 is way off.) Some people would regard them as two different sauces, saying that the former is the Fujian version of the latter.
