Bengsha (butterfly biscuit): the pastry is made of flour, lard, Guangdong-styled preserved bean curd, white sugar, etc. It takes the form of a butterfly and in the color of golden yellow. It is called Bengsha because in the local dialect, Bengsha refers to butterflies.  Level: 3 This term is used in both Cantonese and Mandarin/Standard written Chinese. |
