heptachord, qin (musical instrument), 7-stringed zither 琴 alone used to refer to this instrument, but in modern Chinese, many other instruments are described as a type of 琴, and so 古 or 七絃 was added to refer to the 7-stringed Chinese zither. Also called 古琴.
