silk fabric (in general) 綾羅綢緞 refers to four different types of silk cloth.
綾: a type of silk fabric in twill weave, having the lightest weight among the four. 羅: a type of silk fabric in plain weave, but the yarn twisted in a pattern to create holes (e.g. in a row horrizontally or vertically, or sometimes in a design). It's declared as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage 綢: a type of silk fabric in plain weave 緞: a type of silk fabric in satin weave, having the heaviest weight among the four.
