|
[1][slang] old spinster (lit., "leftover ladies") [2] 3S woman (3S女). 3S is short for Single, Seventies (as most are born in the 1970s) and Stuck. This refers to women who are old enough to marry but are still single. Usually they have a relatively good educational background and high income. 盛女 is a reclaimed version of this term not meant to have the negative connotations.
Level: 3 This term is used in both Cantonese and Mandarin/Standard written Chinese. |
