[popular Japanese slang word] "Dried-fish woman" Himono onna 干物女 (Chinese translation: 魚乾女) an unmarried woman, usually in her late 29s to 30s or older, who has given up on love and sex, resigned to live on her own. is an expression used in the movie Hotaru No Hikari to describe the main character, a woman in her 20s who has renounced the pursuit of romance.
