Usage Note

兩 is often used instead of 二, for example 2 o'clock or when talking about two objects or people.  In these cases 兩 is not generally interchangeable with 二, you need to know which one to use!  There are no hard and fast rules so throughout this site, examples will use 兩 where appropriate.

Chinese people often write using western numbers, especially 0 instead of the more complex 零
