50 Characters Test - All Levels

This sheet is meant to be a memory aid using a random selection of characters which I think are worth learning early on in your studies.  The characters chosen are all from the Revision Sheets on this website.  They have been selected either because they are easy to write, often used or contain common radicals.

If possible, try and recite the Cantonese for each character as this will improve your recognition skills.  Every time you reload the page a new selection of characters will be displayed in a different order so as to make it a bit more difficult to read quickly.  If you can recognise every one you are doing very well!

All Levels | Level 1 | Level 2 | Level 3 | Level 4

UPDATES:

  • Mandarin pinyin romanisation is possible by visiting this link. Cantonese is available here.
  • You can now choose the "level" (difficulty) of characters to generate. These levels are the same as used in the Online Quiz
  • Due to popular demand, the jyutpin pronunciation and meaning should now appear when you hover your mouse over a character. You can also click a character to see a full description of its meaning.
  • I would appreciate comments on this page - please post a message about it.
